My end-of-studies project was a significant undertaking involving the complete redesign and development of an intranet for an electrical company, where my boyfriend had previously worked, for which I found the existing website, dating back to 2011, was in dire need of a modern makeover. Additionally, their planning system was primarily managed within an Excel file, which although functional, required accessibility and usability improvements. For the showcase website, I opted for WordPress to ensure user-friendliness for future administrators. In contrast, I used Laravel to develop the intranet, with a primary focus on enhancing the planning system. Despite some feature trade-offs due to time constraints, I’m immensely proud of the project’s progress.
Key challenges included structuring HTML tables efficiently and designing an interface that complemented the existing color-coded system. Although not yet 100% complete, this project marked a significant milestone in my studies and web development journey, leaving me with a profound sense of achievement.
